our story

Long before we got to where we are today Our Opa was a baker in the Netherlands. He brought his trade and expertise to Holland, MI after immigrating from Kollum, Nederland in 1956. He taught our father, Pop, and Pop taught us, passing recipes down that we still use today. We are fourth generation bakers and have always known that you can bring people together over something as simple as hot bread.

Fast forward to 2025. Our father retired many years ago but we love the art of baking and food so much that we kept moving forward. What started as a small bakery is now a local culinary delight with two locations in Holland. Our south location offers a fast and casual vibe with plenty of outdoor seating in the summer. Our north location offers a full service breakfast and lunch dining experience with award winning dishes. The vibe and menu are very different at both locations but you will find that both offer plenty of deBoer baked goods!

We work here, we live here, and we value our community of Holland. We are committed to providing warm hospitality, quality made from scratch food, and the best carbs you’ll ever eat. This is so important to us that if you stop by either of our locations on any given day, you’ll see one of us brothers in the bakery. We are fueled creatively by Samuel who is a classically trained master baker, Mitchiel who is our head Chef and graduate of the Florida Culinary Institute, and Jacob who is our operations manager. You will even find the fifth generation of deBoers working there now and learning the craft of hospitality.
